SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which is an essential part of digital marketing. Search Engine Optimization is a process to optimize online content so that search engine shows it on the top results when someone searches it with relevant keywords.

Importance of SEO

SEO is important to optimize the online content so that its position in search engine results improves. You can increase web traffic and attract visitors across the world through it.

People generally believe in the top results of any search engine. SEO helps to increase website ranking and bring it on the top results of search engine.

Types of SEO

Basically, there are three types of SEO:

  • Technical SEO
  • On-page SEO
  • Off-page SEO

Technical SEO

Technical SEO is not for online content and promotions. Technical SEO is used to solve the technical problems of the website so that the search engine crawl the website without any issue.

Technical SEO is all about:

Website speed – The website rank also depends on its speed. The faster site is better for the user experience.   

Broken links- If your website contains broken links then it is hardly an issue. Search engines don’t crawl broken links.

Duplicate content- Copied content affect website ranking. Make sure your website doesn’t contain duplicate content.

Alt tags and Title tags- Alt and title tags HTML elements, used to describe the content of images. Alt and title tags help Google in crawling the information about images.

Robot.txt- If your website doesn’t contain robot.txt file then bots and spiders cannot enter inside your website and the search engine doesn’t crawl it. So robot.txt is important for crawling a website.

XML Sitemaps – Sitemap is an important part of SEO. It gives information to the google about the topic of your website.

On another hand, if technical SEO is not good then your website will not crawl and indexed by the search engines and it may cause a negative impact on your website ranking.

On-Page SEO

On-Page SEO is all about the content of your website. The search engine can’t read website content as like human. On-Page SEO helps search engine to understand what page is all about.

On- Page SEO Deals with:

Title – Keep title of your website under 60 characters and mention some major keywords in it because Google displays first 50-60 characters on the search engine.

Meta-Description – Meta description is used to summarize the content of the website then appear under your page URL in search results. The length of meta-description can be in between 160 characters to 180 characters. It must be unique and display maximum keywords.

Keywords- Keywords are called the phrases and define what your content is about. Keywords are also acting as search queries. People enter keywords into the search engine to find the relevant content.  

Headings- Headings make reading content easy. Your WebPages must contain one H1 tag and two H2 tags. Heading tags are important for search engine to crawl and understand the content quickly.

Off-Page SEO

Off-Page SEO is a strategy to build a website reputation on the internet. In other words, it is the process to improve the ranking of a website in search engine.    

Off-page SEO includes link building, social media promotions, image posting, video posting, and document sharing strategies. These strategies are important for getting high-quality visitors from search.

It is used to spread website reach across the world and increase daily visitors on the website so that its rank also increases on the search engine results.  There are three types of SEO (On-page SEO, Off-page SEO, and Technical SEO) each type plays an important role in search engine optimization.

You need to keep one thing in mind that Search engine optimization is a slow process. It is a long term work which never ends. It might be need months on showing the improvement results but in the end, its results are more reliable and long-lasting.
